Tessera Consulting offers you a one-day course that adopts a positive and constructive approach to help you to develop understanding among team members

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®) is a unique personality questionnaire. It combines all the properties of a reliable and scientifically valid psychometric tool with a stimulating and persuasive theoretical background. The framework is simple to understand, yet powerful. It assesses diversity in a positive way and is excellent at pin-pointing strengths and potential areas for team development. It has a constructive and non-judgemental approach to personality assessment and can be easily understood in very little time.

By using a framework that breaks personality down into 16 different personality types team members are able to acquire an accessible theory to help them to describe their differences.

A One Day Introduction To The MBTI® With Teams.
This one-day course starts by giving team members a chance to become familiar with the MBTI® framework and its relevance to them as individuals. Team members are then asked to share their personality types with others in order to promote a positive discussion about diversity within the team. The team’s strengths and potential areas for development are discussed.

The morning session will include:

An introduction to the MBTI® theory
Group feedback and explanation of the MBTI® concepts
Exploring diversity
Team Analysis: Strengths and "blind-spots"

After lunch team members are asked to think about the character of their team and how this is likely to impact on the rest of the organisation. Team members then learn how to apply their knowledge of the MBTI® in order to make team decisions more effectively, and to communicate to each other more clearly. The final part of the day will depend on the particular needs of the client. At the centre of many team development initiatives is often a need to address issues around team leadership or organisational change. Both of these topics can be examined in depth.

The afternoon session will include:

The team’s character
Team decision making
Team communication
Leadership OR change issues

In addition to the standard one-day session, Tessera also offers you a more bespoke approach to team development. By utilising various diagnostics, we are able to spend time making an in depth analysis of your team and design exercises that specifically explore the issues that arise from this analysis. We are also able to utilise measures such as the Firo-B™ to capture other aspects of the team’s dynamic, by examining the interpersonal needs of each team member.
